Registered Nurse Job Openings

Registered nurses (RNs) comprise the largest group of nurses and healthcare workers in the US. Registered nurses are the primary points of contact between doctors and patients. Registered nurses have several duties related to disease prevention, maintenance of health and hygiene, providing patient care, and administering medication. Registered nurses also perform evaluations.

Registered nurses are usually the first people who notice problems or raise concerns over patients’ progress. Registered nurses work in different situations. For instance, critical care nurses work in intensive care units, and psychiatric nurses treat patients with mental health disorders.

There are three major educational paths to registered nursing: a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN), an associate’s degree in nursing (ADN), and a nursing diploma. BSN programs, offered by colleges and universities, take about four years to complete, an ADN takes about two to three years to complete, and nursing diploma programs require three years of training.
